Bishop Wesley T. Cherry is the humbled and esteemed Founder of the Word Alive Church International in Manassas, Virginia, where he served tirelessly since its inception in May 1994.

Bishop Wesley T. Cherry was an apostolic voice and servant leader with a passion for God and compassion for people. Cloaked in humility and postured in power, his tireless commitment reflected his desire to witness transformed and victorious lives through the reality and relevancy of Jesus Christ.

He is the loyal husband to the elegant and elect Lady Jan Cherry who compliments and serves him with distinct honor and ardent zeal! They are graced with two sons, Wesley Jr. (wife Kara), Joel Mark and their beloved grandchildren!

Summary of credentials include: B.A. in Social Science, M.A. in Pastoral Counseling and Doctorate in Theology (Th. D.) as well as an honorary doctorate from Faith Christian University and Schools. In 2007, Bishop Cherry was appointed to the office of Bishop within the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International by the Fellowship’s founder, the honorable Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. and the Bishop’s Council. In addition to the Pastorate of Word Alive Church International, Bishop Cherry served as the State Bishop of Virginia and on the College of Bishops for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International under the leadership of presiding Bishop Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III.

Without question, Bishop Cherry exemplified the pursuit of Kingdom order and excellence. His life’s mission and mark continue to largely impact lives across the nation. To God Be the Glory!
